Energy Deregulation

So much hype and buzz about this. But what exactly does it mean?

In a nutshell, in a lot of states, you no longer have to buy your electricity or gas from the same company that delivers it to you. Residential & commercial energy, under deregulation, has two components. Delivery/service, and the actual energy product, whether it be Natural Gas or electricity. Even so, the actual price paid for either component is still under the watchful eye of the state or local utilities commission.
